ASSISTANT MANAGER – PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT

In this context, SBI Foundation is hiring an Asst. Manager – Programme Development who will report to the Asst. Vice President & Program Head of SBI Foundation. The individual in this position will focus on conceptualising new initiatives for contributing to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their related thematic issues, including water conservation, gender equality, access to quality education, financial inclusion, etc. He/She will play a key role in SBI Foundation’s contribution in implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

Key Responsibility
The person in this position will be responsible for:
- Providing support to Asst. Vice President & Program Head in developing new programmes, implementing and evaluating assigned programmes, etc.; monitoring and analysing programme development and implementation; identifying problems and issues to be addressed and initiating corrective actions; liaising with relevant parties; ensuring follow-up action
- Organising and preparing written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
- Providing substantive support to Asst. Vice President & Program Head for high-level meetings to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents, presentations and reports, etc.
- Coordinating with Asst. Manager - Communication for outreach and communication activities to raise awareness about, and widely disseminate, outputs and findings resulting from the assigned programmes
- Organising seminars/ roundtables/ workshops for national experts addressing sustainable development issues
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on programmes undertaken by SBI Foundation, including reporting to partners/funders
- Performing other duties as required and assigned by Asst. Vice President & Program Head
The incumbent will also be involved in planning, budgeting, writing research papers on varied subjects, review of schedule timelines, on-boarding, resource management for the programmes, SPOC for issue management, onsite-offsite coordination and communicating innovative ideas/changes for programme management/development activities.
Key Responsibility Areas will also include:
1. Budget Achievement
- Meeting budget targets through the year by conceptualising innovative programmes in varied fields of education, healthcare, water conservation, Gender inequality and Financial Inclusion.
- Undertaking programmes as per the budget allocated to the position/team
2. Programme Management and Delivery
- Participate with NGOs/Implementation agencies closely in programme delivery
- Ensure that programmes meet objectives, timelines are adhered to and beneficiary experience is of high quality
- Effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, partner teams, beneficiaries, etc.
- Establish a clear understanding of programme expectations including on timelines, quality check measures, etc.
- Manage expectations, align and push back as programme requirements demand (do this on multiple programmes at a time)
3. Monitoring and Evaluation
- Monitor programmes regularly by conducting site visits to ensure timely achievement/delivery of targets/results
- Evaluate the data provided/gathered from NGOs/onsite to track the progress of the programme.
- Estimate the probability of success/failure and take necessary steps to meet the desired outputs
- Undertake/initiate impact assessment by yourself or with help of an external agency to judge the success of the programmes and devise a future course of action
4. Promotion and Branding
- To develop promotional material like pictures/posters/quotes etc. from the programmes and share with the Asst. Manager – Communications to ensure programmes get the required publicity
- To write/provide case stories from the programmes for use on social media and websites
Essential Skills and Qualities
- Computer literate in standard software applications; have good interpersonal skills; report writing and communication skills
- Fluency in English required
- Ability to develop clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identify priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as required; allocate appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work; foresee risks and allow for contingencies when planning; monitor and adjust plans and actions as necessary; uses time efficiently.

Although, the individual will work in a small team, it is essential that the chosen candidate can work in an independent manner to complete the given assignments.
- Educational Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, human resources management, administration or related area. A bachelor’s degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience in accounting, finance, human resources management, administration or related area may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree

- The successful candidate should demonstrate sound programme management skills and experience, have a working knowledge of survey design, impact assessment, research, etc., as well as having the technical and analytical expertise.
- In addition, he or she will be expected to manage a variety of tasks in parallel and be quickly adaptable.
- Experience in developing, coordinating, and running programmes and initiatives is preferred.
