About the initiative:

Prayatn is working on the issue of health and management of malnutrition in Shahabad block of Baran district in Rajasthan. The project intends to address the issue of malnutrition among 0-5 years of children through interventions with various stakeholders including government machinery.  

 

Positions Overview:

This is a field based position wherein the Assistant Project Officer will be working in 25 villages with a team of 5 community mobilisers (one community mobiliser is working in 5 villages). The main responsibility is to develop community based institutions and working with front line departments like schools, anganwadis to strengthen their services in the community.  The Assistant Project Officer will be reporting to the project officer and will work under close guidance of the project officer. The position requires extensive field visits to monitor the team and provide necessary support in execution of the project activities.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

 

·        Preparing different types of plans as per organizational requirement for smooth and effective implementation of project;

·        Facilitate implementation of project activities as per plan;

·        Monitoring and review of the project activities; 

·        Reporting and documentation;

·        Provide onsite support to the team members during the implementation;

·        Development of learning programs for the team working in field level;

·        Develop linkages with other institutions working on similar issues;

·        Identify learning opportunities and document it;  

·        Identify training needs of the project team members;

Requirement:

Candidates should be post graduate in rural development, social work, social sciences, agriculture or in any relevant discipline from a recognized university. The candidate must have minimum 5 years of experience of project implementation on Health and Nutrition.

o   Excellent coordination and motivation skills

o   Good Project management skills

o   Excellent reporting and documentation skills – both in Hindi and English

o   Ability to identify team capacity building issues

o   Knowledge of children’s issues especially on protection and education

 

Nature of Employment:

The selected candidate shall be offered a contract for six months which may be extended subject to resources and the project’s continuity.

Compensation Offered:

Remuneration budgeted for the position is CTC Rs.3,00,000 per year.
