Samarthan is a registered Public Charitable Trust working primarily in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh since 1995. Samarthan is a strategic support organization working with a view to promote participatory governance. We strengthen civil society organisations, Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies to provide a supportive bridge between the voices of the underprivileged. Samarthan in collaboration with Water Aid is implementing a Project “Women + Water in Sehore, Khandwa and Indore. Our website is www.samarthan.org.

We are seeking applications of suitable candidates for the below mentioned position:

Position: Block Coordinator (WASH)- 10 positions

Location: Sehore, Khandwa and Indore , Madhya Pradesh

Responsibilities:
• Selection of relevant material from the available materials and suitably adapt it to the local situation. Preparation of appropriate training material. Conduct different trainings including all the logistics of the trainings.
• Develop a cadre of motivators/champions/natural leaders for community mobilization and ensure that they are adequately trained and supported through regular advice and handholding support.
• Manage team of motivators/champions and/or Swachhatadoots for achieving the target of ODF block.
• Coordinate mass mobilization activities in the block
• Disseminate information about different technology options and ensure that construction activities adhere to the agreed designs and standards
• Support in scaling up sanitation in the district and improve quality of services.
• Build Monthly and quarterly capacity building plan implementation plan
• Prepare progress reports and training reports as per the requirement of the program
• Work with the different service providers including Government, Private and NGOs to identify training needs and conduct and coordinate training of different cadres of WASH service providers.
• Identify, secure and disseminate latest technical information on WASH and support workshops/ trainings of WASH.

Qualifications and Experience
• Graduation in any stream with minimum 5 years of experience in the development sector and minimum three years’ experience in WASH
• Knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
• Should be acquainted with handling Android applications on mobile or digital Tab.
• Basic knowledge of computer, and ability to type in Hindi is essential
• Past experience of working in Madhya Pradesh is preferable

Remuneration: The salary is in the range of Rs. 20000 to 25000 per month, negotiable on grounds of work experience and qualifications.
