Parmarth has strong expertise in water stewardship and works closely with multiple stakeholders including government departments, corporate partners (CSR), local institutions, and communities. The organization implements interventions in areas such as water conservation, watershed development, river rejuvenation, sustainable agriculture, sanitation and waste management, women empowerment, education, and skill development.

Position Overview

Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan is seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to support the design, planning, and execution of water resource and rural infrastructure interventions under various development and CSR-supported projects.

Detailed Job Description (JD)

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

1. Technical Planning & Design

• Conduct site assessments, topographical surveys, and feasibility analysis
• Prepare technical designs, drawings, and estimates for structures such as:
  • Check Dams
  • Stop Dams
  • Community Ponds
  • Percolation Tanks
  • Artificial Recharge Structures (RRWH, PSR, etc.)
• Ensure designs are cost-effective, sustainable, and site-specific

2. Project Implementation & Supervision

• Supervise construction and ensure adherence to technical specifications and quality standards
• Monitor on-site progress and provide technical guidance to field teams and contractors
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental norms

3. Water & Waste Management Systems

• Provide technical support in planning and implementation of Liquid Waste Management (LWM) systems
• Support development of decentralized wastewater treatment and reuse systems

4. Coordination & Convergence

• Liaise with Gram Panchayats, community institutions (Pani Panchayat), and government departments
• Facilitate convergence with relevant schemes such as VB-G RAM G, PMKSY, etc.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain technical documentation including DPRs, drawings, BOQs, and progress reports
• Support impact documentation and reporting for donor/CSR requirements

Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s / bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (B.E./B. Tech)
• Minimum 05 years of relevant experience in the development sector
• Proven experience in water resource management structures and rural infrastructure

Required Competencies

• Strong understanding of watershed management, groundwater recharge, and water conservation practices
• Hands-on experience in field implementation and supervision
• Ability to work in rural and remote project locations
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with NGOs / CSR-funded projects
• Knowledge of government schemes and convergence mechanisms
• Proficiency in AutoCAD / basic design tools
• Familiarity with GIS tools will be an added advantage
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Compensation & Other Details

• Salary: As per organizational norms and candidate experience
• Travel: Extensive field travel required
