The SBI Youth for India Fellow will undertake a 13-month immersive rural development assignment in partnership with reputed NGOs across India. The Fellowship enables young professionals to work at the grassroots level, address critical rural challenges, design sustainable solutions, and build leadership, innovation, and management capabilities while contributing to long-term social change.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work closely with rural communities and partner NGOs to identify and address local development challenges
• Design and implement grassroots interventions across thematic areas such as rural livelihoods, women’s empowerment, education, environmental protection, technology, social entrepreneurship, water, food security, traditional crafts, health, self-governance, and alternate energy
• Conduct field research and community consultations to understand local ecosystems and “bottom of the pyramid” markets
• Develop innovative, scalable, and sustainable project solutions
• Collaborate with Panchayats, local institutions, and public systems
• Manage project planning, monitoring, documentation, and reporting
• Participate in training programmes and professional development workshops
• Adapt to new cultural and linguistic environments under the no home-state policy
• Build strong relationships with community stakeholders and NGO teams

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree completed on or before 4th October 2026
• Age between 21 and 32 years at commencement of programme
• Indian Citizen / Citizen of Nepal or Bhutan / OCI / NRI eligible
• Strong commitment to rural development and social impact
• Demonstrated leadership potential and problem-solving ability
• Willingness to live and work in rural India for 13 months
• Openness to cultural immersion and grassroots engagement
• Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills
• For SBI Employees: Confirmed Officer in Scale I/II (as per eligibility criteria)
