Bala Vikasa is a reputed ISO-Certified professional community development organization based in Warangal with Offices in Kazipet, Hyderabad and Vijayawada working in the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Bala Vikasa is known for its innovative, high-impact, Community Driven Development (CDD) approaches in impacting over 5 Million rural poor beneficiaries over the past three decades. As a result, Bala Vikasa International Centre [ BVIC ] , an extended arm and a unique initiative of Bala Vikasa, is formed in 2014 and dedicated to address this gap and ensure inclusive and sustainable development. The two major focus areas of BVIC, namely, Social Entrepreneurship and Business Responsibility, inherently offer solutions to social and environmental issues through the business approach and/or businesses involvement. The broader objective is to engage with businesses to benefit the society, either directly or indirectly.
Job description:
Responsibilities
· Perform administrative duties such as serving as department head.
· Select and obtain materials and supplies
· Participate in student admissions, registration, and placement activities.
· Participate in campus and community events.
· Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
· Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
· Prepare and deliver lectures to the students on topics such as
· Instruction of 12 credits in social work field as well in the areas of Sustainable Development - concepts and challenges, Social Research Methods, Participatory Tools for Analysis, Process Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Impact Assessment etc,.
· Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
· Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge, and publish findings in professional journals, books, and/or electronic media.
· Supervise students’ field work.
· Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
· Supervise student internship, and research work.
· Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
· Plan, evaluate, and revise methods of instruction.
· Collaborate with colleagues, and with community agencies, in order to address teaching and research issues.
· Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues.
· Maintain student attendance records, grades, and any other files/Formats
Candidate Profile – Qualifications, Skills and Competencies Required:
The ideal candidate should possess:
· MSW/ MA Social Work /MA Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation from an accredited institution
· Preferred a Ph.D., or a doctorate from an accredited institution in a related discipline
· Age between 40-50
· Extensive Communication Skills in English
· Enthusiastic & flexible in taking up any other support roles & activities, as required
· Experience with field instruction
