About the role:
We are seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join our State Teams. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing the State government with policy input, as well as managing the planning, execution, and oversight of our strategic programs at the state level.
This role requires a unique blend of expertise in:
- Strong government relationship management and policy administration.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Leadership and the ability to drive systemic transformation.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Policy & Technical Support to Government:
- Support state government departments in the implementation, funding, and monitoring of interventions for the inclusion of individuals with learning disabilities.
- Analyze current policies, schemes, and budgets, identify processing gaps, and influence policy action to achieve systems transformation.
- Strategic Planning and Program Design:
- Collaborate with central teams to conceptualize and design flagship programs (e.g., early identification, institutional strengthening, model inclusive districts).
- Develop comprehensive program plans, timelines, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and detailed program budgets.
- Implementation Oversight and Problem-Solving:
- Take ownership of the day-to-day execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with program goals.
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills to proactively address challenges and obstacles encountered during policy and program implementation.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Risk Management:
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including government officials, institutional partners, and community leaders.
- Identify potential risks associated with program implementation and develop clear mitigation strategies.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER):
- Establish and implement a robust MER framework for flagship programs.
- Conduct regular assessments, track performance against metrics, and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting impact and key learnings.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Bring a creative and innovative mindset to the team, contributing fresh ideas to enhance program impact.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in implementation.
- Ensure proficiency in the use of technology, including emerging technologies like AI, to strengthen program interventions.
Eligibility and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Public Policy, Education, Development Studies, Economics, Public Administration, Governance, etc.). A postgraduate degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience: We are considering various experience levels ( 5-10 years, 10+ years) of proven experience in program management, project execution, or strategic initiatives, specifically involving the Central or State Government.
- Sector Expertise: Mandatory experience in government relations, policy advisory, program design, implementation, and education sector reforms.
- Language: Fluency in the official language of the assigned state is essential.
