The National Child Rights Research Fellow (CRY – Child Rights and You) will undertake independent research on critical issues related to child rights, including education, health, nutrition, protection, participation, and vulnerability. The fellowship aims to generate evidence-based insights that influence policy, advocacy, and public discourse on children’s rights and well-being in India.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct research on key child rights issues including education, health, nutrition, protection, participation, and development
- Examine relationships between children, families, communities, and state institutions
- Generate scientific evidence on child rights violations and systemic challenges
- Explore emerging issues such as climate change, disasters, and child vulnerability
- Develop research proposals, methodology frameworks, and literature reviews
- Produce research reports and policy-oriented documentation
- Participate in fellowship workshops, knowledge-sharing forums, and mentorship sessions
- Disseminate research findings to social activists, academics, and development practitioners
- Contribute to advocacy and policy discussions on child rights
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Open to Indian citizens aged 18 years or above residing in India
- Strong research interest in child rights, social development, public policy, or related fields
- Ability to design research proposals, conduct literature review, and generate evidence-based insights
- Strong analytical, writing, and documentation skills
- Ability to produce research in any Indian language (proposal submission required in English)
- Experience in research, documentation, or policy work preferred
