Job Description
The Rural India Fellow (KSWS Rural India Fellowship 2026–28) will work as a full-time educator and community changemaker in schools located in the Sundarbans region of West Bengal. The fellowship aims to address educational inequalities by strengthening classroom learning, socio-emotional development, and community engagement while building a cadre of community-driven educators committed to rural development
Responsibilities and Duties
- Teach students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 using innovative and child-centric teaching approaches
- Deliver instruction in subjects such as Mathematics, English, EVS, G.K., STEAM, and socio-emotional learning
- Implement grade-level mastery strategies to improve foundational learning outcomes
- Engage parents and community members to strengthen child development and education outcomes
- Lead classroom activities focused on holistic development and student engagement
- Participate in training, classroom simulations, and teaching reflections
- Track student progress and contribute to impact assessments
- Lead school and community projects addressing local educational and social challenges
- Collaborate with mentors, volunteers, and stakeholders to improve educational outcomes
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
