Job Description

The Young Professional (Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education) will support policy formulation, research, data analysis, scheme implementation, and administrative coordination within the Department of Higher Education. The role involves providing analytical, technical, legal, economic, or statistical inputs to strengthen higher education initiatives, institutional reforms, and national-level academic frameworks.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support policy analysis, research, and scheme appraisal related to higher education reforms
  • Assist in data analytics, report writing, impact assessment, and preparation of policy briefs
  • Contribute to rollout and monitoring of government schemes and flagship programmes
  • Conduct field surveys, documentation, and evaluation studies
  • Provide domain-specific inputs (General / Statistics / Economics / Legal) as per assigned role
  • Prepare presentations, official notes, and background papers for senior officials
  • Coordinate with universities, institutions, and stakeholders
  • Support evidence-based decision-making through data interpretation and analytical insights
  • Ensure timely documentation and compliance with departmental requirements
  • Assist in ICT-based reporting and use of MS Office tools for official work

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • B.Tech / M.Tech / BE / Master’s (Non-Technical) / LLB / LLM for Young Professional (General)
  • Graduation / Master’s in Statistics or Operational Research for Statistic role
  • Graduation / Master’s in Economics / Public Policy / Development Studies for Economics role
  • Graduation / Master’s in Law for Legal role
  • Degree from institutions ranked under prescribed NIRF 2025 categories (Top 200 Universities/Colleges/Engineering, Top 125 Management, Top 40 Law, or QS Top 200 International Institutions)
  • Age not more than 32 years as on 31.12.2025
  • Background in research, data analytics, report writing, policy analysis, and government scheme appraisal preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and IT tools
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
