Location: Chennai/Delhi/Kolkata/Mumbai

 

The incumbent will report to the Deputy Director and will work with CHILDLINE India Foundation to support all Research and Documentation work of the CHILDLINE Knowledge Hub.

 

The responsibilities of Senior Research & Documentation Specialist include, but are not limited to:

 

Research & Documentation

  • Build organizational knowledge base through research and documentation
  • Spearhead the development of tools and documents as stipulated in the CKH plan for the year
  • Build staff capacity through training and technical assistance for accurate data collection and reporting
  • Identify opportunities for new research and data analysis based on information available with CHILDLINE
  • Work in close coordination with the Data Analyst to review and improve upon of data collection tools, mechanisms and reporting

 

Monitoring & Evaluation

 

  • Monitor timely roll-out and implementation of CKH activities related to research and documentation
  • Prepare high-quality reports for internal and external audiences
  • Oversee narrative in resource material and research studies published by the CKH

 

Strategic Planning

 

  • Engage with external technical partners for the development of tools and documents as required
  • Provide technical support for design and implementation of activities as stipulated in the CKH plan
  • Provide programmatic recommendations for the CKH

 

Qualification and Competencies

 

  • Masters degree in Social Work/Economics/ Social Sciences or equivalent
  • At least 5 to 6 years of professional experience working in the development sector; experience of working in the child rights space is a bonus
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in research, evaluation, or program management with an emphasis on:
    • Design and management of research and/or evaluation work, especially mixed methods;
    • Detailed involvement in the creation, field testing, and implementation of data collection tools;
    • Data cleaning and quality control;
  • Advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, presentation, documentation, and report writing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and 1 or 2 other regional languages, with strong attention to detail
  • Adept at using Google Suite and Microsoft Office, with a high level of proficiency in Windows Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with a proactive, energetic approach to problem-solving
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to work flexibly on own initiative or as part of a team
