Role Overview:

The Academic Resource Person (ARP) will play a key role in strengthening foundational learning (FLN) and improving academic outcomes for students in Grades 5–8, with a focus on first-generation learners. The role involves direct classroom teaching, co-teaching with school teachers, and academic planning aligned with FLN and Minimum Levels of Learning (MLL) benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Student Learning Support

  • Conduct structured academic sessions focused on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN).
  • Provide remedial instruction to students performing below grade level.
  • Apply student-centered and activity-based teaching methodologies.
  • Plan and implement targeted academic interventions aligned with program objectives.

2. Co-Teaching & Teacher Support

  • Collaborate with school teachers to deliver effective classroom instruction.
  • Support lesson planning with an emphasis on differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Develop and share Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs) to enhance student engagement.

3. Monitoring & Assessment

  • Track and evaluate student progress against FLN and Minimum Learning Level (MLL) benchmarks.
  • Maintain, update, and analyze student-level academic data.
  • Conduct baseline, midline, and end line assessments.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to refine and improve teaching strategies.

4. Community & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate student progress with parents, teachers, and school leadership.
  • Engage with community members to support continuity of learning beyond the classroom.
  • Participate in school and community-level academic discussions and meetings.

Knowledge & Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of FLN concepts and learning levels.
  • Knowledge of child-centered, inclusive, and activity-based teaching methodologies.
  • Familiarity with remedial education and differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to plan and deliver structured academic sessions effectively.
  • Understanding of assessment frameworks (baseline, midline, endline) and learning outcomes.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with teachers and stakeholders.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office and digital tools.

Compensation:
