About WaterAid India:
Jal Seva Charitable Foundation (JSCF) is registered in India as a not-for-profit company under Chapter 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. JSCF, is an associate member of WaterAid International and uses the brand name ‘WaterAid’ in India.
JSCF or WaterAid India (WAI) seeks to improve access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for everyone, everywhere. Our work is focused on the following themes:
• Safe, assured drinking water at a household level.
• Safely managed sanitation.
• Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Institutions (Anganwadis, Schools and Health Care Facilities).
• Hygiene education and Behaviour Change.
WAI country office is based in New Delhi with State Offices in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Raipur and Patna. We currently work in 11+ states across the country. Role & Responsibility:
• Establish and manage working relation with diverse set of stakeholders – government departments – especially rural development department & RWS & S department.
• Lead and manage the team to ensure all deliverables of the project are met effectively within the desired timeline and with excellent quality.
• Provide guidance and supervise project implementation team.
• Coordinate hardware and other community institution strengthening activities in intervention GPs
• Ensure effective documentation of the work being implemented in consultation with the regional office.
• Take lead in conceptualizing consultations/workshops/ conferences as required in the project
• Lead, manage and motivate the team, creating an environment that enables staff to maximise their potential and facilitates high performing teams
• Furnish interim and final reports, case studies, notes, pictures and other updates on the project as required
• Produce high quality reports to be shared with the donors and other stakeholders
• Ensure complete reporting of the project in WaterAid’s MIS system
• Undertake additional work as desired by the Supervisor
Eligibilities and requirements
Education
• Post-graduation (or equivalent) qualification in one of the following areas: social sciences, civil engineering, international development, economics, water/natural resource management, environment, social policy; additional qualification in water, sanitation, hygiene education will be an added advantage
Experience
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience in similar organisational/ functional context. Experience of working on drinking water aspects in communities will be an added advantage.
Other specifications
• Experience in coordinating/ dialoguing with technical wing of district administration.
• Sound understanding of local issues pertaining to WASH in communities
• Exceptional communications and presentation skills, both written and oral in Kannada
• Proactive and self-motivated individual capable of engaging persuasively with various stakeholders
• A self-starter, able to work independently
• Ability to travel extensively in the field
• Prioritise, set and meet deadlines
