Designation offered: Programme Associate/Lead

 

Reporting to: Programme Lead, Clean Air

 

Location:  New Delhi

 

Purpose:

 

The Clean Air  team at CEEW aims to strengthen air quality management in India’s non-attainment cities by

1) Plugging critical data and information gaps,

2) Building technical and enforcement capacity of institutions, and

3) Equipping citizens to transform them into agents of change.  

 

The team seeks to hire a dedicated researcher to lead the design and analysis of behavioural interventions across air quality, circular economy and energy access domains. The candidate will undertake relevant research, identify and consult stakeholders, and conduct feasibility assessments. The candidate will also have to conceptualise, design and conduct novel behavioural studies that further the mission of the air quality and energy access teams within project mandates. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work with stakeholders in government and civil society to ideate and implement behavioural solutions for clean air and modern energy access. While the role is based in Delhi, the candidate should be open to travelling frequently as and when needed.

 

Job duties and accountability

 

Research and programme assistance

 

●        Lead conceptualisation of behavioural interventions across clean air verticals.

●        Develop partnerships with relevant behavioural science organisations to advance CEEW’s research objectives.

●        Conduct in-depth literature review on key behavioural science topics as per programme needs.

●        Keep updated with recent academic and grey literature on an ongoing basis to keep the team updated on latest findings and debates in behavioural sciences.

●        Developing detailed project proposals and apply for funding opportunities. 

●        Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to understand team needs, conceptualise interventions addressing the need, and assess effectiveness of interventions 

●        To provide research content for the organisation's web pages, blogs, issue briefs, etc.

●        To help team members build capacity in working with big data sets and behaviour change.

●        To engage with relevant stakeholders from industries, policy experts, and academicians

●        To participate in relevant conferences, workshops, training programmes for a comprehensive understanding of air quality management in India and globally.

 

Shortlisting Criteria

 

●        Education and experience

●        Masters/PhD in behavioural science, public policy, or a related field.

●        Subject matter expertise in behavioural sciences including diagnosis methods, good understanding of applied behaviour change frameworks and designing and evaluating trials.

●        Awareness about major behavioural interventions in the development/air quality/ solid waste management, energy access space.

●        Prior experience in design and/or implementation and/or assessment of behavioural interventions.

●        3-6  years of experience working in a behavioural science team, preferably in solving policy relevant societal challenges.

 

Main skills

 

●        Strong analytic skills including qualitative and quantitative research skills

●        Ability to handle and find behavioural insights from existing large datasets

●        Good oral and written communication skills

●        Ability to lead and foresee project deliverables end-to-end.

●        Willingness to learn new (research and project management) skills.

●        Ability to adapt to the new environment and deliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment

●        Striving for rigour in research and quality in work output
