Job Description
The Senior Programme Coordinator will lead the 3-year Regenerative Cotton Project in Gujarat, managing implementation, supply chain traceability, financial oversight, and partner engagement.| The role combines project management with supply chain engagement to promote sustainable cotton production and farmer livelihoods.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the overall project management and day-to-day implementation of the 3-year Regenerative Cotton Project in Gujarat, ensuring all activities are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Proactively identify and assess risks, communicate internally, prepare mitigation plans, and ensure their effective implementation.
- Ensure the project supports Better Cotton farmers to grow regenerative cotton, sell seed cotton to registered gins, and enable donors to source certified and traceable lint.
- Work closely with Ambuja Foundation, Better Cotton teams (MEL, Finance, Supply Chain, Traceability, Gender, Climate Change), and other stakeholders (funder, FPCs, ginners, spinners) to achieve project goals.
- Oversee implementation plan, risk management, reporting, and budget with the Core Project team.
- Organize and follow up on meetings, track decisions, and actions.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to Gujarat to support implementation.
- Facilitate donor visits and coordination as required.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience, with at least 3 years independently managing multi-year projects.
- Strong expertise in agricultural projects, sustainable supply chains, or regenerative agriculture.
- Proven partner management, capacity strengthening, and donor reporting experience.
- Familiarity with MEL frameworks, outcome-based reporting, and financial management.
- Fluency in English and Hindi (Gujarati preferred).
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office).
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
