Role Overview:
The Spoken English Resource Person (SERP) will be responsible for strengthening students’ English communication skills through structured, activity-based sessions. The role focuses on improving listening, speaking, and conversational abilities, particularly among students from vernacular-medium backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Session Delivery
- Conduct structured, activity-based Spoken English sessions.
- Focus on building listening, speaking, and everyday conversational skills.
- Use interactive methods such as role plays, storytelling, games, and dialogue practice to enhance engagement.
2. Language Immersion Support
- Promote the daily use of English greetings and simple phrases within school routines.
- Create an English-rich environment through visual aids such as posters, word walls, and classroom usage prompts.
- Encourage students to practice spoken English beyond formal sessions.
3. Collaboration with School Staff
- Work closely with teachers to integrate spoken English into regular classroom instruction.
- Support and build teacher confidence in using English as a communication tool.
- Co-develop contextual, low-pressure language learning activities.
4. Monitoring & Reporting
- Track student participation and progress during sessions.
- Maintain attendance records, session reports, and qualitative feedback.
- Share periodic updates and insights with the program team.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate in any discipline (English preferred).
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Prior experience in teaching, training, or facilitation (preferred).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel across schools in Wada, Palghar.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Commitment to working with underserved communities.
- Ability to maintain documentation and submit regular reports
Compensation:
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
