Role Overview:
The Wellness Resource Person (WRP) is responsible for promoting students’ emotional well-being through structured wellness sessions and by fostering a safe and supportive school environment. The role focuses on building mental health awareness, strengthening socio-emotional learning (SEL), and equipping students with essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Wellness Session Delivery
- Deliver structured, age-appropriate wellness sessions for students.
- Facilitate sessions on themes such as self-awareness, interpersonal relationships, and emotional well-being.
- Use interactive methodologies including group discussions, storytelling, and experiential activities to enhance engagement.
2. Safe School Environment
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive school environment.
- Encourage open expression, active participation, and respectful communication among students.
- Support students in identifying concerns and guide them toward appropriate help channels.
3. Collaboration with School Staff
- Work closely with teachers and school leadership to promote holistic student development.
- Provide basic orientation/training to school staff on emotional well-being and supportive practices.
- Plan and implement wellness-related initiatives, events, and campaigns within the school.
4. Monitoring & Documentation
- Maintain confidential records, case notes, and intervention documentation.
- Track session attendance and assess the effectiveness of wellness interventions.
- Monitor student progress and ensure timely follow-ups where required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of child psychology, socio-emotional learning (SEL), and mental health fundamentals.
- Knowledge of counselling approaches and life skills education frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of empathy, sensitivity, and ethical practice.
- Ability to identify student concerns and provide basic emotional support.
- Strong documentation, coordination, and collaboration skills.
Compensation:
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
